HOW MUCH DO YOU KNOW ABOUT BAMBOO?

It's that time of the year again! As Christmas is coming, we’d like to inform and advise you before your gift selection. In this post, we’d like to explain in detail why the WONAP Weighted Blanket is superior to other brands in terms of HEALTH and COMFORT, and also why WONAP is such a good gift choice!

Read Carefully Before Purchasing!

As the new year is coming, we are all in a hurry to choose good quality and healthy gifts for our family and loved ones. We’d like to assist you in this rush and search and guide you to the right options in your preferences.

Now, the real question is,

Why WONAP?

Everyone knows that household products are rarely purchased and are usually used for a long time. We never go to the supermarket and buy a blanket or pillow as if we were buying milk or vegetables.

At this point, we want the products we’ll purchase to be high quality and durable.

When comparing with other weighted blankets on the market, we recommend you to pay attention to a few main points such as how to maintain your blanket’s hygiene, what material the fabric is made of and what is the material of the weights in it.

1- Fabric Material

The fabrics we wear and touch affect our health at least as much as the food we consume. That’s why we do not recommend you to use polyester or cotton instead of bamboo.

The only reason why all major blanket brands in the market use polyester or cotton is that they are low-cost. However, as you can read in our related blog post, cotton and polyester are harmful to both humans and the environment we live in.

WONAP weighted blankets are made of 100% bamboo fabric. Bamboo is known for its sustainability and environmentally friendly.

Also while fabrics such as cotton and polyester could make the user perspire, the bamboo fabric keeps the person dry all year round with its thermo-control feature.

Bamboo is hypoallergenic, moisture absorbent, antibacterial and odor protectant. You will enjoy the sense of lasting hygiene and feeling of rest as well as a night of uninterrupted sleep.

2- What are the Weights Inside the Weighted Blankets?

Different brands use different stuffing materials for the weighted blankets they produce. Some of them use plastic pellets while others use steel beads.

As the WONAP, we’re always trying to choose the healthiest materials for you, we prefer glass beads because plastic pellets could contain BPA or other chemicals. Another stuffing is steel beads. Although they are smoother and healthier than plastic materials, they are quite available for making noise during use due to their metal surface.

When we researched, we observed that the most harmless substance for human health is glass beads. Glass beads-filled blankets never make noise during use and they are 60% much thinner and lighter compared to the blankets stuffed with plastic pellets or steel beads. They are completely odorless.

We recommend you to make your product selection considering that plastic materials may stink!

3- The Maintenance & Cleaning

While the cleaning of some weighted blankets in the market is not recommended in any way, WONAP weighted blankets can be washed with only warm water in the delicate cycle of your washing machine!
